Role Overview for Office Orderly Jobs in Lusaka

The Office Orderly will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all office spaces, including meeting rooms, kitchens, dining areas, and common areas. You will also assist with hospitality services such as preparing and serving tea, beverages, meals, and refreshments during meetings, events, and official functions. The role includes basic administrative duties like filing, photocopying, scanning, document distribution, courier deliveries, and moving office materials. Additionally, you will support light gardening and upkeep of office surroundings. This position demands reliability, honesty, and a service-oriented attitude to help ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, dining areas, and other designated spaces at all times.
  • Prepare and serve tea, refreshments, beverages, meals, and snacks for management, employees, visitors, and official functions.
  • Uphold sanitation standards in kitchen and dining facilities.
  • Perform basic administrative support including filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, document distribution, and courier deliveries.
  • Assist with office maintenance and ensure adequate stock of cleaning and hospitality supplies.
  • Report promptly on replenishment needs for cleaning materials and refreshments.
  • Support upkeep of office surroundings through basic gardening and light landscaping activities.
  • Adhere to company health, safety, hygiene, and workplace standards.
  • Provide assistance during company events, meetings, and official functions.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Certificate in Hospitality, Housekeeping, Office Administration, or related field is an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in office support, housekeeping, hospitality, or a similar role.
  • Experience in a corporate office environment is preferred.
  • Basic skills in filing, document handling, culinary preparation, and food service.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication, professionalism, reliability, honesty, integrity, and multitasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform routine indoor and light outdoor tasks.
