MINING ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW

A leading limestone mining and lime processing company based in Lusaka, Zambia, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced, and results-oriented Mining Engineer to join its operations team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, design, and supervise limestone mining operations to ensure safe and efficient extraction.
• Develop short-term and long-term mine plans in line with production targets.
• Monitor mining activities and optimize productivity, equipment utilization, and operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
• Conduct geological and mining assessments to support reserve management and mine development.
• Prepare production reports, budgets, and operational forecasts.
• Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, and haulage activities.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the mining operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).
• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in limestone mining operations.
• Strong knowledge of open-pit mining methods, mine planning, and quarry management.
• Sound understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
