About the Solar Design Engineer Role

The Solar Design Engineer will play a critical role in the design, optimisation, and documentation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Key Responsibilities for Solar Design Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

• Lead the design and engineering of solar PV systems, including creating system layouts, schematics, and detailed technical specifications.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analyses to inform project planning.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of five years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation.
• Proficiency in design software including PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, and the MS Office Suite.
• Comprehensive knowledge of solar PV technologies, inverters, batteries, and grid integration processes.
• Familiarity with international standards and local regulatory requirements governing solar projects.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
