About the Steel Fixers Jobs in Lusaka As a steel fixer with Projects Plus Limited, you will be responsible for all reinforcement activities on site, supporting the construction of heavy machine foundations, road slabs, drainage channels, and other critical structures. Your role is essential in ensuring structural integrity by accurately interpreting design documents and executing reinforcement installation to specification. Key Responsibilities Interpretation: Read and analyze Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and structural drawings to identify reinforcement requirements. Fabrication: Cut and bend steel reinforcement bars to precise shapes and sizes using manual or hydraulic bending equipment. Fixing & Tying: Secure reinforcement bars for foundations, slabs, columns, beams, and walls, using wire ties to maintain position during concreting. Spacing & Cover: Maintain correct spacing between bars and apply spacers or chairs to ensure the specified concrete cover is achieved as per design. Mesh Installation: Install steel wire mesh (e.g., Φ4mm) in concrete ditches and thinner slabs according to project specifications. Safety Compliance: Safely handle heavy steel materials and consistently follow safety protocols related to lifting and handling sharp objects. Candidate Requirements Demonstrated experience as a steel fixer within the construction industry. Competence in reading and interpreting Bar Bending Schedules and structural drawings is essential. Experience working with both light mesh and heavy structural reinforcement. Physical endurance and ability to perform effectively under varying weather conditions.
