Key Responsibilities for Therapist Jobs in Lusaka Deliver individual and group counselling sessions tailored to children’s mental health needs. Conduct comprehensive assessments to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and care coordination. Collaborate with caregivers, families, and other professionals to guide treatment and foster recovery. Provide education on health, abuse prevention, medication management, and available community resources. Review and update treatment plans, referring children and families to appropriate support services as needed. Monitor and document each child’s progress against treatment goals, maintaining accurate records and reports. Conduct interviews, review case files, and consult with relevant parties to assess children’s behavioural and emotional health. Prepare monthly reports, highlight success stories, and share therapy research insights with the team. Counsel children affected by trauma, substance abuse, violence, and other challenges, recommending suitable interventions. Promote child safety and wellbeing in accordance with legal, ethical, and organisational standards. Ensure compliance with policies and assist Senior Management and law enforcement in responding to child abuse cases. Lead risk assessments and preparedness efforts related to child protection incidents. Qualifications and Experience Required Diploma or degree in Psychology with a valid practising licence. Proven experience in child counselling, rehabilitation, behavioural monitoring, or related child-focused roles. Strong ability to monitor and evaluate cases, adapting therapeutic approaches to meet individual children’s needs. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with children from diverse age groups and backgrounds. Comprehensive knowledge of professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards relevant to child therapy.
