About the Fashion and Design Trainer Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating vocational training programs focused on garment construction, measuring, and cutting. This role plays a critical part in bridging theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills, ensuring trainees gain the technical expertise and safety awareness necessary to thrive in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities for Fashion and Design Trainer Jobs in Lusaka
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical training sessions covering garment construction and machine handling.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and assessments aligned with industry standards and TEVETA accreditation requirements.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate trainee progress through assessments, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, including proper use of tools, metals, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain and ensure all workshop equipment and tools are in optimal working condition.
- Establish partnerships with industry stakeholders to support job placement and career opportunities for trainees.
Qualifications and Experience
- TEVETA accreditation in Fashion and Design.
- Minimum diploma or craft certification in Fashion and Design or a related field.
- At least three years of professional experience in the fashion and design industry.
- Previous experience in vocational teaching or training is highly advantageous.
- Strong practical skills in garment construction, measuring, and cutting techniques.
