Key Responsibilities of the Cattle Ranch Manager

• Livestock Management: Manage all herd health aspects, including breeding programs, calving, nutrition, and disease prevention and treatment. Keep detailed and accurate records of cattle inventory and health histories.
• Operations & Planning: Develop and implement grazing rotations, oversee supplemental feeding schedules, and collaborate with veterinarians and industry experts to maximize herd growth and productivity.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and organize ranch hands while fostering a safe, cooperative, and efficient working environment.
• Property & Asset Maintenance: Ensure the upkeep of fences, water systems, shelters, and farm equipment such as tractors and implements. Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance concerns promptly.
• Financial & Administrative Oversight: Manage the operational budget, monitor expenses, assist with purchasing supplies, and maintain comprehensive work reports, production audits, and compliance documents.
• Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee all ranch activities comply with local agricultural laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Skills Required for Cattle Ranch Manager Jobs in Mazabuka

• Experience: A minimum of five years in cattle production or large-scale livestock management.
• Knowledge: Expertise in animal husbandry, cattle nutrition, veterinary care, and pasture management.
