Accountant Fixed Assets Stores Jobs in Ndola – ZAMPOST

Zambia Postal Services Corporation (ZAMPOST), a State-Owned Enterprise providing postal, courier, logistics, and financial services nationwide, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant – Fixed Assets & Stores. This opportunity is based in Ndola, Copperbelt, Zambia, and offers a full-time, permanent role within the Finance Department at the Head Office.

Position Summary – Accountant Fixed Assets Stores Jobs in Ndola

The successful applicant will play a critical role in managing financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, and inventory control. This position ensures compliance with accounting standards and supports robust financial management through accurate record-keeping, reconciliations, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant – Reporting, the role is graded ZPSC7 and is pensionable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain precise accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, overseeing acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation calculations.
  • Supervise inventory and stores records, including stock reconciliations and periodic stock counts.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits by providing timely financial information and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, accounting standards, and statutory obligations.
  • Assist with budget preparation, financial analysis, and management reporting.
  • Enhance internal controls and contribute to the automation and improvement of finance, asset, and inventory systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Partial professional accounting qualification such as CA Zambia, ACCA, ZICA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Registered membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is mandatory.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong expertise in fixed asset and inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and reconciliation capabilities.
  • High integrity, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
