Role Overview: Students Affairs Officer

As a Students Affairs Officer at ZIBSIP College, you will play a vital role in maintaining discipline, promoting harmony among students and staff, and supporting students throughout their academic journey. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage various student-related functions, including counselling, orientation, placement, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain discipline and harmony among students and staff, recommending appropriate actions for disciplinary issues.
  • Conduct group counselling sessions focusing on personal development, educational guidance, and career planning.
  • Manage student clearance processes upon completion of academic terms.
  • Advise and coordinate student placements, including industrial attachments.
  • Organize orientation programs for new students to facilitate smooth integration into college life.
  • Administer and supervise student hostels, including oversight of hostel staff and related activities.
  • Oversee student publications to ensure content meets college standards.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and stakeholders to monitor student placement and performance.
  • Coordinate with training departments to ensure effective communication and student placement processes.
  • Manage bursary and sponsorship applications for eligible students.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including registration data, statistical returns, and class registers.
  • Participate in examiners’ meetings as part of academic oversight.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Guidance, Counselling and Placement, or Psychosocial Counselling.
  • At least two years of practical experience in a similar role.
  • Mature individual, aged 30 years or older.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in computer use is essential.
