Communication Officer (1 Position(s)) Rural Electrification Authority Job Description To support the development and implementation of REA's corporate communication, public relations, stakeholder engagement, media relations and internal communication strategies in order to enhance the Authority's visibility, promote public awareness of rural electrification programmes and strengthen REA's corporate image. Responsibility: Corporate Communication and Public Relations Implement communication and public relations strategies aligned to REA's corporate objectives. Develop and disseminate communication materials including press releases, speeches, feature articles, newsletters, and media briefs. Coordinate publicity and media coverage for REA programmes, projects and events. Manage content development for print, digital and broadcast platforms. Monitor media coverage and prepare media monitoring reports. Stakeholder Engagement Support stakeholder mapping and engagement activities with Government Ministries, local authorities, development partners, communities and the private sector. Coordinate public awareness campaigns and community sensitisation initiatives on electrification projects. Facilitate communication during project launches, commissioning ceremonies and public events. Maintain effective relationships with strategic stakeholders. Digital and Online Communications Manage and update REA's website and digital communication channels. Create and publish content for social media platforms. Monitor online engagement and prepare analytics reports. Support development of multimedia communication products. Internal Communications Support implementation of internal communication programmes. Prepare staff notices, internal newsletters and corporate announcements. Coordinate communication activities across departments to ensure message consistency. Events and Brand Management Coordinate branding and visibility activities for exhibitions, trade fairs and corporate events. Ensure consistent application of REA brand guidelines. Support planning and execution of official ceremonies and media events. Reporting and Administrative Support Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual communication reports. Maintain communication databases, archives and media contact lists. Monitor communication activities against approved work plans and budgets. Support procurement processes for communication materials and services. Skill : Oral Communication Written Communication •Media relations and content development skills. •Digital communication and social media management. •Event coordination and stakeholder management. Report writing and presentation skills. Photography, videography and graphic design skills (added advantage). Strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Qualification Required: Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication or its equivalent, Member of Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication, Validation Certificate from Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), Full Form V/ Grade 12 School Certificate Experience : 3.0 Year(s) Job Opening date : 16-Jun-2026 Job closing date : 30-Jun-2026 Login to Apply
