Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Storeman to join our team in Lusaka. About the Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Warehouse Supervisor, the Storeman will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of outbound logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing schedules, and maintaining accurate records to support timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities for Storeman Jobs in Lusaka

  • Coordination and Scheduling: Receive requests for parts or services and develop efficient delivery schedules in collaboration with relevant personnel.
  • Picking, Packing, and Dispatching: Accurately pick and pack items, processing all activities through D365, while communicating essential delivery details.
  • Communication: Act as the primary liaison for drivers and customers, providing updates, addressing inquiries, and resolving any transportation issues promptly.
  • Tracking and Monitoring: Oversee the progress of shipments, maintain detailed logs, and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve obstacles affecting dispatch processes, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet changing priorities.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records including invoices and delivery confirmations, and ensure data entry is up to date in D365.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere strictly to company policies, legal regulations, and safety protocols, including proper handling of materials and use of PPE.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 certificate is mandatory.
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of warehousing experience within a relevant industry.
  • All academic qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

Required Competencies

  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and external parties.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Dynamics AX.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
