Kalungwishi Estates Limited, a leading agro-processing company based in Kasama, Zambia, is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to fill the position of Boiler Operator. Position Overview – Boiler Operator Jobs in Kasama

The Boiler Operator will play a critical role in operating, monitoring, and maintaining the industrial boilers and steam generation systems that support uninterrupted sugar manufacturing. This full-time position requires dedication to safety, operational excellence, and teamwork within a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously monitor boilers, steam systems, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain appropriate pressure, temperature, and water levels in compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to detect and address any operational abnormalities promptly.
  • Keep detailed boiler logs, operational records, and safety checklists up to date.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to sustain boiler efficiency and safety.
  • Respond immediately to boiler alarms and manage emergency shutdown procedures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams during repairs and servicing activities.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and implement measures to optimize boiler efficiency.
  • Ensure the boiler house is maintained in a clean and safe condition at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Valid Boiler Operator Certificate or relevant technical qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience operating industrial boilers within manufacturing or processing plants.
  • Solid understanding of steam systems and boiler safety protocols.
  • Experience in sugar processing or agro-processing industries is advantageous.

Required Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of boiler operations and strict adherence to safety standards.
  • Strong ability to identify and respond swiftly to operational faults.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours when required.
