Key Responsibilities for Senior Mechanic Jobs in Kapiri Mposhi

• Diagnose, repair, service, and maintain trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, and thorough inspections.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections on all assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify mechanical faults accurately.
• Replace worn or damaged parts efficiently, ensuring all repairs meet company standards.
• Carry out performance testing post-repair to confirm vehicle roadworthiness and reliability.
• Maintain high standards of workshop cleanliness and safety compliance in line with HSEQ policies.
• Safeguard and properly use workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
• Report significant mechanical issues and recurring breakdowns promptly to management.
• Support breakdown response and recovery operations when necessary.
• Mentor junior mechanics and contribute to the technical development of the workshop team.
• Ensure accurate completion of job cards and update maintenance records consistently.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanics from a recognized institution.
• Three to five years of proven experience as a Light Mechanic within a truck workshop environment.
• Valid EIZ Driver’s Licence and ZAQA Verification Certificate.
• Proficient in operating all workshop tools and mechanical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of truck mechanical systems, including maintenance and repair procedures.
• Ability to diagnose faults accurately and implement effective repair solutions.
• Independent execution of routine maintenance and safety inspections.
• Comprehensive understanding of workshop safety standards and procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Experience with Foton Trucks, Sino Trucks, and Henreds trailer repairs is an advantage.
