Job description

Position : Imports/Exports Operations Officer – Zambia

1. Coordinate end-to-end import and export operations, from booking to final delivery.
2. Prepare, review, and manage all import/export documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with trade requirements.
3. Submit customs declarations, classify goods using correct HS codes, and ensure adherence to customs and border regulations.
4. Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth clearance and shipment movement.
5. Track inbound and outbound shipments, provide timely updates, and address any delays or discrepancies.
6. Maintain organised records of all import, export, and customs documentation.
7. Stay updated on customs rules, tariff changes, and international trade regulations, supporting audits and compliance checks.
8. Collaborate with internal teams and provide clients/management with shipment status updates.

Required profile for job ad : Imports/Exports Operations Officer – Zambia

1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Clearing & Forwarding, Supply Chain, or related field.
2. 3–5 years’ experience in import/export operations, freight forwarding, or customs clearance, preferably in Zambia.
3. Strong knowledge of Zambia’s imports and export procedures, including customs systems and clearance processes.
4. English proficiency (both written and spoken) as the working language.
5. Strong documentation and communication skills.
6. Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
