ICT Officer

Job description

Kariba Minerals Limited, a member of the ZCCM Investments Holdings Group of Companies, is seeking a skilled and motivated ICT Officer to join its Finance team. The ICT Officer will provide technical support to all users and IT department units through infrastructure installation and maintenance.

Key Details

• Department: Finance
• Reports to: Finance Manager
• Working environment: Office-based with periodic mine/site visits
• Experience required: Minimum 2 years

Key Responsibilities

• Install, support and maintain infrastructure including desktops, servers, laptops, WAN/LAN, printers, mobile devices, access control and CCTV
• Perform daily system monitoring and verify availability of hardware, server resources and voice/data systems
• Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues on computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Conduct security checks on infrastructure with the ICT Manager and Network Administrator
• Provide first and second-level technical support to staff
• Maintain ICT support logs and track issue resolution timelines
• Maintain security controls across IT systems and services
• Manage data backups and verify restore capability
• Maintain ICT equipment and software licence registers
• Research and recommend software products and services
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX expenditure within agreed budgets
• Ensure compliance with ICT policies, cybersecurity standards and data protection protocols
• Support digitization initiatives and system improvements

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, ICT or related field
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA or Microsoft Server/Network will be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage
• Minimum 2 years ICT support experience
• Experience in mining, manufacturing or distributed/remote site environments is preferred

• Good communication skills with ability to train and support end users
• High reliability, confidentiality and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in remote or site-based environments
