About the Role

The Cleaner & Operation Assistant is responsible for ensuring all production floors, showrooms, offices, and client-facing areas are impeccably maintained. This role supports the company’s professional image and contributes to the wellbeing of staff and visitors by delivering a consistently clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Factory & Production Areas: Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness at the start and end of each day; remove fabric offcuts and production waste; empty waste bins with proper segregation; clean and sanitize bathrooms twice daily; wipe down machinery and work surfaces; keep storage, passageways, and emergency exits clear.
• Showroom & Client Spaces: Prepare the Deyne Interiors showroom before opening; maintain spotless presentation throughout operating hours; clean windows, glass doors, and display cabinets regularly; address spillages and marks promptly; polish furniture and décor.
• Office & Common Areas: Clean desks and common spaces daily without disturbing documents; sanitize kitchen and break areas; remove rubbish at day’s end; replenish toilet paper, soap, and sanitizer, notifying Admin when supplies run low.
• Cleaning Standards & Safety: Use cleaning products safely and correctly; store chemicals securely; wear appropriate PPE; report maintenance issues immediately; avoid using production materials for cleaning.

Performance Indicators

• All areas cleaned to required standards daily, verified by Admin Officer
• Showroom and client areas ready before opening
• Bathrooms cleaned at least twice daily with no complaints
• No cleanliness-related client complaints
• Proactive replenishment of cleaning supplies to avoid shortages
• Timely reporting of maintenance issues
• Consistent attendance and punctuality for all shifts

Candidate Requirements for Cleaner Jobs in Lusaka

• Education: Zambia School Certificate (Grade 9 minimum) preferred but not mandatory
• Experience: At least 1 year in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities roles; commercial or retail experience advantageous
• Skills: Detail-oriented with knowledge of appropriate cleaning products; strong time management and task prioritization; understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards
• Personal Attributes: Reliable, punctual, honest, trustworthy, discreet, physically fit for standing, bending, and light lifting

Working Conditions
