Financial Controller

Job description

Mimbula Minerals Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join its Finance Team. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership by ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, effective budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, mentor and develop the Finance Team
• Oversee general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and consolidate monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analyses
• Provide financial insights, modelling, forecasting, budgeting and decision-support information
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements and internal SOPs
• Manage treasury operations, banking relationships, fixed assets, lease accounting and external financing activities
• Oversee ERP administration, data integrity, inventory valuation and financial controls
• Coordinate external audits, tax reviews, compliance assessments and strategic investment analysis including NPV, IRR, Payback and ROCE evaluations

Qualifications and Experience

• Chartered Accountant / Associate or Fellow of ZICA
• Full ZICA, CA Zambia, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• 5 to 10 years experience in Management Accounting and Leadership
• Strategic thinker, resilient and effective listener
• Good financial modelling skills
• Good report writing skills
• Good leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills
