Job description
Supply Chain and Logistics Officer
Company: Tumi Raiseboring Zambia Limited
Location: Kitwe, Zambia
Salary: ZMW 6,500 – ZMW 11,500 net per month
The Supply Chain and Logistics Officer will oversee and manage the company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy, coordinate movement of heavy machinery, spare parts, and consumables to mine sites, manage inventory, and optimize transport routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor transport of raiseboring equipment, spares, and materials to and from mine sites.
- Manage and optimize the end-to-end supply chain for timely delivery without disrupting mining operations.
- Oversee inventory management, track stock levels, and minimize stockouts or overstock.
- Liaise and negotiate with freight forwarders, transporters, and suppliers for cost-effective rates.
- Ensure logistics comply with Zambian transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation of fleet movements, shipments, and inventory cycles.
- Resolve logistical issues, delays, or supply chain bottlenecks promptly.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transport Management, or related field.
- Valid Zambian Driver’s License is mandatory.
- Minimum three (3) years’ proven experience in logistics and supply chain, preferably in mining, heavy machinery, or construction.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, fleet scheduling, and route planning.
- Proficiency in logistics/inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Membership with ZIPS or CILT is an added advantage.
