Job description
Position : Imports/Exports Operations Officer – Zambia
- Coordinate end-to-end import and export operations, from booking to final delivery.
- Prepare, review, and manage all import/export documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with trade requirements.
- Submit customs declarations, classify goods using correct HS codes, and ensure adherence to customs and border regulations.
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth clearance and shipment movement.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, provide timely updates, and address any delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain organised records of all import, export, and customs documentation.
- Stay updated on customs rules, tariff changes, and international trade regulations, supporting audits and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with internal teams and provide clients/management with shipment status updates.
Required profile for job ad : Imports/Exports Operations Officer – Zambia
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Clearing & Forwarding, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in import/export operations, freight forwarding, or customs clearance, preferably in Zambia.
- Strong knowledge of Zambia’s imports and export procedures, including customs systems and clearance processes.
- English proficiency (both written and spoken) as the working language.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
