  EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (WWSC) is a Commercial Water and Sanitation Utility Company engaged in the business of providing water supply and sanitation services to its customers in the Urban, Peri- Urban and Rural areas of Western Province of Zambia. In a bid to enhance service delivery and customer service management, Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited being an equal opportunities employer, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Artisan Plumber, Plant Operator and Plant Attendant.

PLANT OPERATORS (5)

JOB PURPOSE:

To operate pumps, chlorinators and other equipment, in the pump stations and water treatment plants in order to ensure efficient production treatment and distribution of potable water

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Should have a full Grade 12 certificate

·       Craft certificate in water supply operations; Crafts in Power Electrical or the Equivalent

·       Minimum of 1-year relevant experience

·       Knowledge of the local area will be an added advantage.

·       Knowledge of water supply systems and meter operations will be an added advantage. 

AGE PROFILE

Should be between 20 to 35 years.

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will be required to:

·       Operates pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process

·       Records data concerning the operations of the plant and machinery.

·       Undertakes, basic maintenance, repairs rehabilitation to plant and equipment as necessary in order to ensure water quality.

·       Administers specified dosage of water treatment chemical such as chlorine using chlorinators to treat water to standards set by National Water and Sanitation Council (NWASCO).

·       Cleans equipment, wells, tanks’ surroundings, etc.
