The role demands adherence to ethical standards and evidence-based medical practices aligned with international guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver medical services efficiently by following international best practice guidelines.
• Treat patients according to established Standard Treatment Guidelines, including MBHS, Zambia National, and WHO protocols.
• Apply ICD-10 coding for all patient consultations to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Conduct thorough patient follow-ups and order appropriate investigations.
• Document patient history and physical examinations accurately.
• Prescribe correct treatments and maintain daily case records on tally sheets.
• Refer patients as necessary and provide counseling on treatment compliance.
• Deliver health education sessions to patients and clients.
• Collaborate effectively with other clinicians to ensure holistic patient care.
• Respect and uphold patients’ rights during medical service delivery.
• Support team members to enhance service efficiency and adapt to clinical practice changes.
• Maintain professional conduct and seek constructive resolution of grievances without confrontation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Clinical General Sciences.
• Registration and licensure with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience, preferably with exposure to emergency medicine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training is preferred.
• Computer literacy to support clinical documentation and communication.
