Job description

Resource Acquisition Intern

World Vision Zambia Limited is offering an internship opportunity within the Resource Acquisition Unit for a detail-oriented and motivated graduate with a passion for resource mobilization and development work.

The successful candidate will support the identification, tracking, and development of funding opportunities, contribute to securing resources for impactful programmes, and build practical skills in proposal development, donor engagement, and grants management.

Position: Resource Acquisition Intern
Location: Lusaka

Major Responsibilities

  • Update tracking tools and dashboards with the latest data.
  • Support scanning and tracking of funding opportunities from donors and partners.
  • Maintain an updated grants pipeline tracker/database.
  • Work with Grants Acquisition Specialists, communications, and other relevant staff to develop profile management documents such as technical or project briefs and capacity statements for donor engagement.
  • Organize and maintain the grants documentation repository, including concept notes, proposals, and contracts.
  • Support filing and archiving proposal documents, MoUs, grants, and sub-agreements in shared systems.
  • Assist in updating standard templates and knowledge materials.
  • Support the development of Go/No-Go decisions for grant and other funding opportunities.
  • Participate in proposal writing or review, ensuring all grants quality data or information is timely available for proposal development.
  • Support proofreading and basic quality checks of documents.

Education, Technical Skills, Experience and Required Attributes

  • University degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Demography/Statistics, Agricultural Economics, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • Must be a recent graduate within the last two (2) years.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to use diverse IT systems, including presentations, databases, and cloud-based tools such as Salesforce, Box, Asana, Dropbox, Google Workspace, OneDrive, Access, SQL Server, IBM DB2/Notes; this is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
