Job description

Tera Fleet Management Limited seeks to employ a Logistics Intern in the Logistics Department to join our growing team.

 

POSITION: Logistics Intern (X1)

  

DEPARTMENT: Logistics

 

LOCATION: Ndola, Sakania

 

JOB PURPOSE

The overall job purpose for the position is to assist with general operations in logistics.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Monitoring: Monitoring the delivery of shipments to ensure cargo and consignments are delivered on-time, and safely at their respective destination.

2.    Loading Orders: Send out detailed and timely loading orders to drivers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with transportation requirements. Arrange and verify escorts before cargo dispatch.

3.    Tracking Reports: Send out daily tracking reports to all clients, providing updates on the status of cargo in transit, progress, and any delays.

4.    Clearing: Verify clearing documents, send pre-alerts to suppliers, agents, clients or warehouse teams and follow up with clearing agents on clearing progress.

5.    Manifest Generation: Generate accurate manifests for loaded fleets, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all relevant regulations.

6.    Receiving of PODs and Receipts. Shall be responsible for receiving of receipts for completed trips and PODs from drivers. And will proceed to scan the copies and submit to the supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1.    Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics & Transport, Purchasing & Supply or related Field.

2.    Must be resident in Ndola, Kitwe or the Copperbelt.

3.    No experience required, graduates encouraged to apply.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

1.    Strong communication and organizational skills.

2.    Ability to work under pressure and manage tight timelines.

3.    Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

4.    Knowledge of Microsoft operating tools.
