Accounts Officer Intern

ALEJO Community Support Project is looking for an Accounts Officer Intern to work at its Head Office. Applicants should be based in Mufulira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution.
• Progress toward, or completion of, a professional accounting certification such as ACCA, ZICA, or CPA.

Essential Technical Skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting and ERP software packages such as QuickBooks, Sage/Sun, or Pastel.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
• Basic understanding of statutory and local tax reporting, including VAT or PAYE regulations in Zambia.

Key Soft Skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Analytical thinking and ability to review financial data and detect anomalies.
• High integrity and strict adherence to financial confidentiality and organizational ethics.
