Wilmar Industries Zambia Limited is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional for the role of Stock Controller at our refinery located in Ndola, Copperbelt. Key Responsibilities of the Stock Controller
- Data Entry & Management: Accurately capture and update daily production figures, raw material usage, utilities consumption, quality control results, and inventory levels using SAP and other systems. Maintain comprehensive electronic and hardcopy records to ensure traceability and completeness.
- Data Verification & Reporting: Validate and reconcile input data against physical stock, process logs, and laboratory reports. Prepare and distribute production, quality, downtime, and inventory reports on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. Support audit processes with precise documentation.
- Stock Control & Tracking: Monitor chemical, raw material, spare parts, and by-product inventories including spent clay, PFAD, soap stock, and ETP sludge. Record stock movements such as receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments in SAP. Collaborate with procurement, finance, and logistics to ensure timely stock replenishment and dispatch. Investigate discrepancies promptly and raise Non-Conformance Reports within 24 hours.
- Compliance & Systems Support: Ensure all stock handling and data management adhere to Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality, and Food Safety standards. Assist in maintaining refinery data systems including SAP and Excel trackers. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with production, laboratory, engineering, procurement, finance, EHS, and tank farm/ETP teams to synchronize records and resolve issues. Escalate any anomalies or delays to management promptly.
Qualifications and Skills Required for Stock Controller Jobs in Ndola
- Education: Diploma in Engineering, IT, or related fields is advantageous. A degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred for enhanced technical understanding.
- Experience: Proven experience in data entry, stock control, or production administration within an industrial setting. Familiarity with SAP, SAGE, or similar ERP and stock management systems is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional accuracy in data entry, strong proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, and sound knowledge of production processes and inventory reconciliation.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to generate detailed reports, solve problems analytically, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Competencies: Meticulous attention to detail, integrity in handling sensitive information, resilience for routine tasks, safety awareness, and physical fitness to support site documentation and stock verification activities.
Work Environment and Additional Information
The refinery operates continuously in a 24-hour cycle encompassing chemical, physical, dry fractionation, tank farm, and effluent treatment plant (ETP) processes. Candidates must be prepared to work in a hazardous environment requiring strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols and may need to accommodate shift schedules outside typical office hours.
