Role Overview for Senior Human Capital Practitioner Jobs in Kitwe

The Senior Human Capital Practitioner will play a key role in managing the employee lifecycle, supporting organizational objectives, and fostering a compliant, productive, and positive work environment. This full-time position requires a strategic and hands-on approach to human resource operations within a structured HR framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all critical HR operational processes including payroll input, reconciliation, recruitment, and cyclical HR activities.
  • Interpret and advise on HR policies, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the review and update of HR policies and procedures in collaboration with employees and line managers, providing coaching where necessary.
  • Support line managers with employee relations and organizational design standards.
  • Assist employees with understanding and applying HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee data aligned with government regulations.
  • Collect and manage data required for document submissions and statutory reporting, including overtime exemptions.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with line managers and employees.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance and HR best practices.

Candidate Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a human capital role covering core HR functions.
  • Experience within a structured HR framework, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.

Essential Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, labour legislation, and ethical practices.
  • Ability to monitor HR metrics such as turnover rates and time-to-hire, ensuring unbiased decision-making.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration and remuneration frameworks.
  • Proficiency with HR and payroll management systems.
  • Excellent communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail capabilities.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
