Job description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Transport Assistant to support our transport and logistics operations. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating daily transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries, efficient vehicle utilization, and smooth communication between drivers, warehouse staff, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily scheduling and coordination of transportation activities to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods;
- Support sourcing of trucks and coordinate import and export transportation requirements;
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse personnel, and other departments to ensure smooth transport operations;
- Monitor vehicle movements and transportation processes, and promptly report or resolve operational issues;
- Maintain accurate transport and dispatch records, ensuring timely updates within the system;
- Support route planning and transport scheduling to improve efficiency and reduce delays;
- Assist in monitoring transportation costs and recommend improvements for operational efficiency;
- Ensure compliance with company transport procedures and road safety regulations;
- Provide regular updates and feedback on transportation activities and delivery status;
Requirements
- International Certificate in Transport and Logistics (CILT),
- Minimum of 4 year experience in transport coordination, logistics and fleet management;
- Knowledge of transportation operations, road networks, and logistics processes;
- Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively handle unexpected situations;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and transport/dispatch systems;
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Added advantage working in a logistics environment. and knowledge of fleet management and transport documentation.
- preferably the age of 22-35
