Wagtech Zambia Ltd requires an Accounts Officer to oversee daily financial record keeping and support overall accounting operations. The successful candidate will maintain accurate bookkeeping, process transactions, prepare financial documentation, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. This role demands integrity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while safeguarding confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities for Accounts Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Maintain precise accounting and bookkeeping records.
  • Record daily financial transactions and perform account reconciliations.
  • Prepare invoices, quotations, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Process supplier payments and keep supplier records up to date.
  • Prepare bank and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and statutory payments.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel, or equivalent.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
  • Good knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory requirements.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in financial tasks.
  • Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
