Role Summary for Driver Jobs in Lusaka

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of Swiss Bake Ltd’s products to various branches, clients, and designated locations throughout Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining product integrity during transport, complying with all road safety regulations, and supporting operational efficiency through diligent vehicle care and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport company products safely and punctually to branches, clients, and other locations across Zambia.
• Ensure correct loading, securing, and unloading of goods to avoid damage or loss.
• Verify goods against delivery documents before dispatch and upon delivery.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintain optimal vehicle condition for safe operation.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws and promote safe driving practices to protect passengers, cargo, and the public.
• Maintain detailed daily records of trips, mileage, vehicle maintenance, and repairs.
• Manage fuel consumption efficiently and coordinate refueling to support uninterrupted operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management relevant to the role.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 12 certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience in long-distance or cross-country commercial vehicle driving.
• Valid driving license for commercial vehicles (Class C, C1, CE, D, or equivalent).
• Physically fit to handle heavy goods and work in varying weather conditions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Zambia Highway Code and commitment to road safety and defensive driving.
• Basic first aid and fire safety skills, with ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report faults.
