About the Diesel Mechanic Role in Ndola

As a Diesel Mechanic at Henred Fruehauf Africa, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of the company’s fleet. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and other fleet equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults involving diesel engines, gearboxes, and related systems
• Support workshop technicians and apprentices with technical expertise
• Conduct final inspections and test drives before releasing equipment
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency callouts
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and workshop operational standards
• Prepare detailed daily reports documenting repairs, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Class B Driver’s License; Heavy Duty Vehicle Driver’s License is a distinct advantage
• Minimum of three years’ experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty vehicles
• Strong knowledge of Shacman trucks, diesel engines, gearboxes, and associated systems
• Understanding of hydraulics, suspensions, air brake systems, and truck electrical components
• Basic familiarity with tractors, forklifts, excavators, and TLBs
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
