Job Opportunities: Site Manager and Assistant Safety Officer

Lion One Mining Services Zambia Limited is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following positions:

1. Site Manager

Minimum Requirements
– Diploma or Degree in Heavy Equipment Repair, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
– Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in heavy equipment repair in an underground mining environment.
– Strong knowledge of underground mining equipment and maintenance operations.
– Good management and administration skills.
– Ability to supervise teams, manage operations, and prepare reports effectively.
– Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
– Knowledge of mining safety standards and operational procedures.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets.
– Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
– Supervise daily underground site operations and maintenance activities.
– Manage manpower, equipment, and operational schedules.
– Ensure machinery availability and efficient site performance.
– Prepare operational and maintenance reports.
– Enforce safety compliance and company procedures.
– Coordinate breakdown response and preventive maintenance activities.
– Maintain proper administrative and operational records.

2. Assistant Safety Officer

Minimum Requirements
– Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
– Minimum of 1 year experience in mining, construction, or industrial safety operations.
– Knowledge of mine safety regulations and risk management procedures.
– Ability to conduct safety inspections and incident investigations.
– Good report writing and communication skills.
– Must be physically fit and able to work underground when required.

Key Responsibilities
– Assist in implementing company safety policies and procedures.
– Conduct routine workplace inspections and safety awareness programs.
– Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
– Assist in accident investigations and preparation of safety reports.
– Promote a strong safety culture within the workplace.
