Klapton Reinsurance PLC is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the development and delivery of innovative software solutions that align with our business objectives. About the Lead Software Engineer Role

Reporting directly to the Tools & Tech Lead, the Lead Software Engineer will oversee the design and implementation of scalable software architectures. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to ensure the successful execution of software projects. Although this position does not involve direct reports, you will mentor junior developers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities for Lead Software Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance development efficiency and product performance.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor project milestones to ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

  • Design and architect robust, scalable software solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in multiple prominent programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working within agile development methodologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful software projects.
