Machine Exchange is seeking skilled professionals for forklift driver jobs in Lusaka to support our factory operations. This full-time position involves the safe and efficient transportation of raw materials within the production facility, playing a vital role in maintaining smooth processing lines.

Position Overview: Forklift Driver

As a Forklift Driver at Machine Exchange, you will be responsible for moving raw avocados and other materials through various stages of the factory. Your role is crucial in ensuring the timely flow of goods, maintaining equipment, and upholding strict safety and food quality standards throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities for Forklift Driver Jobs in Lusaka

• Load and unload raw avocados from trucks to the warehouse designated for ripening.
• Transport fruit efficiently to different production stages to keep the processing line operational.
• Operate forklifts safely and maintain them in excellent working condition.
• Perform routine equipment repairs and promptly report any mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Adhere strictly to workplace safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with inventory management by tracking stock and verifying fruit origin for traceability purposes.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Recommend improvements to warehouse organization and operational procedures.
• Implement food safety standards consistently throughout the processing cycle.
• Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) regulations during shifts.
• Participate actively in food safety meetings and audits to maintain compliance.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Certified forklift operator with a valid driving license.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), Environmental standards, and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose equipment issues and perform effective maintenance to meet operational goals.
