About S4D CONSULTING LLC and the Role
Systems for Development (S4D) Consulting is a US-based IT consulting and digital transformation firm with operational branches across Africa, including Zambia. We specialize in delivering sustainable ICT solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and decision-making. Currently, we are developing the National Digital Health Intelligence Center (NDHIC) in Zambia, a platform designed to integrate and visualize health data to improve sector-wide outcomes.
The Web App Developer will lead the build-out of the Predictive Stock Intelligence Engine (PSIE) application layer, translating UI designs into a robust, production-ready web application. This includes integrating machine learning model endpoints and managing deployment infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities for Web App Developer Jobs in Lusaka

- User Experience: Implement user workflows including filtering, drilldowns, threshold-based alerting, commodity segmentation, and export options (PDF, Excel).
- Role-Based Access: Create navigation and views tailored to user profiles like supply chain planners, pharmacists, and warehouse managers.
- API and ML Integration: Connect front-end components with REST APIs delivering stock-out risk predictions and redistribution recommendations, handling real-time data refresh and error states gracefully.
- Infrastructure & Deployment: Manage hosting environments (cloud, on-premises, or hybrid), configure CI/CD pipelines, implement security protocols including authentication and role-based access control (RBAC), and monitor application performance.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with data and ML engineering teams, participate in user acceptance testing with Ministry of Health stakeholders, and produce comprehensive technical documentation and training materials.

- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with containerization, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to implement authentication and RBAC in web applications.
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in health systems, public health informatics, or supply chain analytics.
- Familiarity with consuming ML model endpoints and surfacing predictions in user interfaces.
- Knowledge of data platform architectures such as medallion or lakehouse patterns.
- Previous engagement with government or multilateral stakeholders in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing and adapting solutions based on stakeholder feedback.
