Established in December 2008 under the Companies Act of Zambia, LpWSC is a commercial water utility company dedicated to providing reliable water supply and sanitation services across six districts in Luapula Province, including Mansa, Samfya, Kawambwa, Mwense, Nchelenge, and Chienge. Since commencing operations in 2009, the company has grown to become a key service provider in the region.

Role Overview: Billing Administrator

Reporting directly to the Manager of Commercial Services, the Billing Administrator will oversee the planning and coordination of the billing system administration. This role demands a detail-oriented individual capable of managing billing cycles, maintaining accurate customer databases, and ensuring the integrity of billing data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute customer bills promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain billing cycles to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  • Manage and update the customer database to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform data validation and cleansing to uphold data integrity.
  • Address and resolve customer billing inquiries and complaints efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Administer and maintain the billing system, troubleshooting issues and escalating to IT support as needed.
  • Train billing system users to maximize effective utilization.
  • Supervise and manage subordinate staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare detailed reports on billing operations, customer data, and system performance.
  • Analyze billing data to support informed business decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with at least five O-level passes including English and Mathematics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar billing administration role.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body is required.
  • All qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualification Authority (ZAQA).
