Safety Engineer Jobs in Mpika and Kapiri Mposhi – Join China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), executing the TAZARA project, is seeking qualified and experienced professionals for two contract Safety Engineer positions. These safety engineer jobs in Mpika and Kapiri Mposhi offer a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure development while ensuring workplace safety and compliance with occupational health standards.

About the Safety Engineer Jobs in Mpika and Kapiri Mposhi

The successful candidates will be stationed at one of two project sites: Mpika or Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia. Each location has one vacancy available. The primary role is to oversee and enforce occupational health and safety standards across the project sites, ensuring full compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures under TAZARA operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and continuously monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety standards and statutory safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and unsafe practices; prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training sessions for site personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Recommend and support the implementation of corrective and preventive safety measures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for all project activities.
  • Promote and foster a strong safety culture throughout all project sites.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in construction, railway, mining, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Valid Safety Certificate from a recognised institution or professional body is mandatory.
  • Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and construction safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
