Role Overview for Commercial Sales Representative Jobs in Ndola Lusaka
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Sales – Fuels, the Commercial Sales Representatives will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle for bulk fuels, including diesel, petrol, and lubricants. This role goes beyond selling products; it involves ensuring energy security for mining and transport clients where operational downtime is costly.
Candidates will focus on securing high-volume supply contracts and coordinating complex logistics to deliver fuel efficiently to remote mine sites and transport hubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Volume Acquisition: Aggressively grow bulk fuel sales by securing long-term supply agreements with mining companies and Tier-1 logistics firms.
- Bulk Infrastructure Coordination: Collaborate with technical teams to support the installation of on-site fuel tanks and dispensing equipment at client locations.
- Tender & Bid Leadership: Lead the commercial responses for large-scale fuel tenders, ensuring pricing strategies that protect company margins.
- Credit & Debt Management: Monitor client payment cycles and ensure timely collections to maintain healthy Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Supply Chain Liaison: Work closely with operations and logistics teams to guarantee seamless fuel delivery to remote or high-traffic sites.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of proven sales experience within an Oil Marketing Company (OMC).
- Established network and track record in selling bulk fuel to mines, freight forwarders, and cross-border logistics companies.
- Strong understanding of fuel storage regulations, health and safety (HSE) standards, and bulk liquid transport logistics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Registration with relevant regulatory bodies is essential.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60%) to mine sites, border posts, and logistics depots.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
