About the Tyre Fitter Role
As a Tyre Fitter, you will play a critical role in maintaining the availability and safety of our machinery by carrying out thorough tyre inspections and repairs in accordance with Sable Zinc’s stringent standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth operation of heavy equipment and light vehicles, supporting our commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities for Tyre Fitter Jobs in Ndola
- Inspect and assess tyres and related components to identify wear, damage, or faults following company maintenance protocols.
- Perform tyre removal, refitting, inflation, and balancing on Heavy Earth Moving Machinery and light vehicles.
- Carry out tyre repairs including puncture and section repairs as well as tyre reconditioning using approved technical procedures.
- Advise machine operators and supervisors on tyre conditions, potential risks, and necessary corrective actions to maintain safety and roadworthiness.
- Complete tyre requisition documentation and coordinate tyre collection and issuance from stores.
- Maintain detailed records of tyre usage, inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Adhere strictly to safety standards, procedures, and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Trade Test or Craft Certificate in Tyre Fitting, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ practical experience in tyre fitting or a similar technical role.
- Valid Silicosis Certificate demonstrating compliance with occupational health requirements.
- Willingness to work full-time in Ndola, Copperbelt region.
