The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Zambia to the United Nations is currently seeking dedicated individuals for general worker jobs in New York. About the Position: General Worker Jobs in New York
The general worker role involves essential custodial duties that support the smooth operation of the Mission’s offices. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various areas, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic environment for staff and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and common areas thoroughly and regularly
- Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum floors to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Empty trash bins and manage waste disposal in an environmentally responsible manner
- Replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries to ensure availability at all times
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with the setup of meetings and events as required
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience in a similar cleaning or general worker role
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, supplies, and safe handling procedures
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory
