Site Manager Jobs in Lusaka – Mining Operations Leadership Opportunity

Bulk Mining Explosives Limited (BME), a proud member of the Omnia group of companies and a leading manufacturer and supplier of Bulk Emulsion Explosives, is inviting qualified professionals to apply for the position of Site Manager at our Lusaka and Maamba sites. Role Overview: Site Manager – Lusaka & Maamba Mining Operations

The Site Manager will provide strong leadership and operational oversight for day-to-day activities across the Lusaka and Maamba mining sites. The successful candidate will ensure that production is conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while complying with all legal, environmental, and corporate standards. This role demands a proactive manager capable of driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities for Site Manager Jobs in Lusaka

  • Lead operational activities including production, maintenance, and logistics to achieve site objectives.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Mine Health and Safety legislation and BME’s HSE standards.
  • Drive achievement of production targets while controlling costs and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage site leadership teams and operational personnel.
  • Oversee mine planning execution, equipment utilization, and contractor performance monitoring.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators, budgets, and operational metrics.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and sustainability.

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

  • A degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8 to 10 years of mining operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing open-pit and/or underground mining operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mine health and safety legislation and risk management.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office; familiarity with mine planning and reporting systems is an advantage.

Additional Advantages
