BEM Motors is currently seeking qualified and detail-oriented individuals for the role of Stores Clerk. The successful candidates will ensure smooth operations by maintaining accurate records and optimal stock levels.

About the Position

The Stores Clerk role is a full-time position based in Lusaka, Zambia, with three vacancies available. Reporting directly to the Regional Accountant, the Stores Clerk will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The position offers a competitive monthly salary of ZMW 5,521.84.

Key Responsibilities for Stores Clerk Jobs in Lusaka

  • Conduct regular stock controls to monitor inventory levels, comply with shelf-life policies, and avoid overstocking.
  • Receive, document, store, and issue goods following company procedures.
  • Maintain precise and current stores and requisition records.
  • Consolidate requisition records promptly to support efficient information management.
  • Identify and facilitate timely disposal of expired or obsolete stock to optimize storage space.
  • Ensure the stores area remains orderly, clean, and well-arranged at all times.
  • Assist in preparing work plans and reports as required by management.
  • Participate actively in stocktaking exercises and inventory audits.
  • Safeguard all stock items and relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with user departments to ensure timely distribution of goods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate is mandatory.
  • Possession of a certificate in Purchasing and Supply, Business Management, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Registered membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is required.
  • At least two years of experience in stores or inventory management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
