About the Loan Officer Role in Kitwe

As a Loan Officer, you will be instrumental in expanding our loan portfolio through effective client acquisition, thorough credit assessments, and diligent portfolio monitoring. This role demands strong communication skills, discipline, and a proactive sales approach to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and robust collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Origination & Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients, promote lending products, build lasting client relationships, and conduct regular field visits.
  • Field Assessments & MOU Company Evaluations: Perform on-site evaluations of potential MOU companies, verify business legitimacy, assess risks, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Loan Processing & Credit Assessment: Assist clients with loan applications, conduct affordability checks, verify information, and ensure complete documentation for approval.
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Collections: Track repayment performance, follow up on overdue accounts, negotiate repayment plans, and maintain portfolio health.
  • Customer Service & Relationship Management: Provide ongoing client support, resolve queries, educate clients on loan terms, and foster repayment discipline.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Keep accurate records of client interactions and field activities, prepare performance reports, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Adhere to lending policies, ensure KYC compliance, and report any suspicious activities promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate required.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Experience in sales, collections, customer service, or microfinance is preferred but recent graduates with strong discipline are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Sales-driven mindset with a proven ability to meet targets.
  • Strong fieldwork experience and effective collections skills.
  • Good organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email communication.
