Job description

Stefanutti Stocks Construction (Zambia) Limited, a division of a South African premier multi-disciplinary contractor is seeking to recruit competent individuals in the position below;

Place of Employment: Kalumbila- Lumwana – Zambia

Position Title – Quality Assurance/Controller Engineer – Document Control

Department – Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reports To – QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose

To manage and control all quality-related documentation, ensure compliance with project specifications and standards, and support QA/QC activities through accurate documentation control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control all QA/QC documents, records, and correspondence.
  • Ensure proper distribution, revision control, and filing of project documents.
  • Prepare and update document registers, transmittals, and tracking logs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams regarding documentation requirements.
  • Review technical documents, drawings, procedures, and material submittals for compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality reports.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with ISO standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
  • Monitor NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), corrective actions, and close-out documentation.
  • Maintain records for inspections, testing, welding, coatings, and material traceability.
  • Support audits, quality inspections, and handover documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission of as-built documentation and final QA/QC dossiers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Certification in Document Control or QA/QC is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with construction, fabrication, or engineering documentation processes.

Experience Requirements (Added Advantages)

  • 2–5 years’ experience in QA/QC and document control within construction, mining, fabrication, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
  • Experience handling technical drawings, material submittals, and quality records.
  • Familiarity with fire-rated doors, steel fabrication, or mechanical/electrical documentation is an advantage

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Document management systems (SharePoint, EDMS, etc.)
  • AutoCAD drawing review (basic understanding)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • QA/QC procedures
  • Document revision control
  • Inspection and testing documentation
  • Material traceability systems

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and filing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving and reporting skill

Preferred Competencies

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
  • Understanding of inspection records
  • Experience with client approval processes and project close-out documentation
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
