Role Overview: Internal Auditor Jobs in Lusaka
The Internal Auditor will play a pivotal role in evaluating and enhancing the company’s internal control systems, ensuring that financial, operational, and compliance processes are robust and consistently applied. This position requires conducting thorough audits of inventory management, financial workflows, and operational activities to identify risks, uncover irregularities, and recommend effective corrective measures.
By promoting accountability and safeguarding company assets, the Internal Auditor supports adherence to corporate policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. The role also provides independent assurance to management, driving improvements in process efficiency and overall organizational performance through detailed and timely audit reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits across inventory, financial, and operational areas to assess risk and control effectiveness.
- Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports for senior management.
- Collaborate with management to enhance internal controls and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 certificate with at least five credits.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in audit management, inventory control, and internal controls.
- Proven supervisory and management experience.
- Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Sage Evolution 200 is an advantage.
- Familiarity with evaluation systems and information systems controls is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
