Role Overview: Environmental Safeguards Officer

Key Responsibilities for Environmental Safeguards Officer Jobs in Lusaka

• Ensure strict compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and standards governing company projects.
• Conduct thorough Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and perform regular environmental audits.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) tailored to project requirements.

• Prepare detailed environmental reports and maintain documentation for submission to regulatory bodies.
• Promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and best practices across all departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental compliance and safeguards.
• Proven knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks applicable in Zambia.
• Demonstrated experience conducting Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental audits.
• Strong report writing and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
