Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting patient care throughout the endoscopy and gastroenterology department. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies, administering treatments, monitoring patient progress, and upholding the highest professional nursing standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and contribute to individualized care planning
Prepare patients effectively for endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures
Provide assistance to doctors and specialists during diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
Administer intravenous medications and manage cannula insertions with precision
Monitor patient recovery closely and deliver attentive post-procedure care
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and clinical reports
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and patient safety protocols
Support rehabilitation efforts and long-term care when necessary
Candidate Requirements
Valid practicing license with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
Minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in endoscopy, colonoscopy, or gastrointestinal nursing care
Background in acute care, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings preferred
Proficient in IV therapy and wound management
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
