Accountant

Chesco Tech is seeking a skilled, experienced, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting business decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional who can maintain strong financial controls while contributing to the company’s growth and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Operations

• Manage all accounting transactions and maintain the general ledger
• Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage petty cash
• Ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist in financial analysis and performance tracking
• Support budget preparation and monitor actual vs budget performance

Compliance & Statutory Obligations

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns with:
• Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA)
• NAPSA
• NHIMA
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory requirements

Audit & Controls

• Assist with internal and external audits
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data

General Duties

• Support management with financial insights where required
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management

 QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Part or full professional qualification (BA ACCOUNTANCY, ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE, ZICA, ACCA, CIMA)
• A paid up member of ZICA
• Minimum 1–2 years proven experience as an Accountant
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, ERP systems) is an advantage
• Valid Driver’s License
