Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technologist at Mair Pharmacy Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications while providing exceptional customer service. You will support pharmacy operations by managing stock, supervising support staff, and maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical standards. This position requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities for Pharmacy Technologist Jobs in Lusaka

Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines accurately and safely
Provide professional advice and counselling on medications and minor health concerns
Ensure strict compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards
Manage pharmacy inventory, including controlled and specialized medicines
Conduct basic health screenings such as blood pressure and diabetes checks
Support purchasing, inventory control, and merchandising activities
Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff to maintain high performance
Maintain cleanliness and proper storage conditions, including temperature control
Monitor and manage expired or near-expiry stock to reduce waste
Contribute to enhancing overall pharmacy operations and customer satisfaction
Qualifications and Skills

Full Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution
Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is mandatory
Ability to work extended hours as needed
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Competent in basic computer applications
Organised with effective time management abilities
Leadership experience and supervisory skills are advantageous
Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred
