Description

Graphic designers use computers or hand tools to create posters, websites, logos, brochures, magazines and many other materials to communicate ideas and information visually. We are seeking a new graphic designer to join our team. You will be designing a wide variety of things across digital and offline media. To be successful in this position, you’ll be a self-starter, capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and show amazing attention to detail.  ZamFind Graphic designers are also expected to be actively involved with and contribute towards meeting production goals.  

Common Everyday Responsibilities

  • Prepare work orders
  • Supervise stock counting and organization
  • Vectorize Logos
  • Digitize logos (embroidery)
  • Prepare artworks for DTG/DTF
  • Color Separations for screen printing
  • Update PCR with monthly backups
  • Catalog past works – Templates, WOs, SWOs, Designs, Weekly Content
  • Create content (6 Content/Week) to help sales teams drive sales
  • Create Templates
  • Take Pictures of events that the company sponsors and create content for sales purposes.
  • Coordinate efforts around setup of event stands when the company participates/sponsors events.
  • Make short reels – 15s and 2m highlight videos to be used as marketing content
  • Maintaining printers, engravers, inks
  • Maintaining a checklist for printing consumables
  • Create mockups which will help customers make better informed decisions (Work orders)
  • Process Oriented and compliant with PCR format requirements.
  • Learn to master DSLR cameras.
  • Planning production for the next 72 hours. 
  • Quality control activities – 2 hour Inspections.  Holding production teams to get approval for the first sample which should always remain physically in person in front of the printing job so as to be referenced. 
  • Owner of Store Catalog.
  • Stock snapshot images are there.
  • Comfortable using ProLearn POS

  • Update WOs into workflow features in the POS

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials (Conceptualizing)
  • Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
  • Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
  • Coordinating with outside agencies, art services, web designer, marketing, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
  • Communicating with clients about layout and design.
  • Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop.
  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.

Past Experiences

  • Production Environment – Preferably large format printing
  • Maintaining Machines with TPM philosophy (Total Preventative Maintenance)
  • Corel Draw mastery – Okay if you are comfortable with Adobe Suite but has to be willing to learn CorelDraw because our suppliers/vendors insist on CorelDraw.
  • Exposure to high pressure production environments and willingness to be the difference maker => Accountability. As we grow everyone in the company has less time and if the individual contributors don’t do their work with high fidelity (ownership and understanding) then all the pressure falls onto supervisors and leaders.  Individual contributors should be able to absorb pressure and help the leaders meet targets, not pass on the pressure.  Most designers that fail in this role might be doing their work but failure to absorb pressure is the reason why they are not viewed by management as being leadership material.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to review/enforce rules agreed on with the management team.
  • Being able to lead a group of less experienced production team members and mentoring them to improve their own time management and understanding of production challenges.

Critical Skills (Must Have)

Corel Draw – Vectorizing 

Adobe Suite

Multi-tasking

Experience with at least one printing technology (Screen, DTF, DTG, UV, Embroidery, Large Format, Pad Printing, Laser Engraving, Sublimation, Commercial Digital Printing)

Preferred Skills (Nice to have)

Premiere Pro

Strong Conceptualizing

Photography and videography
