Job description

CXL Investments Limited is a manufacturing company based in Makeni area of Lusaka, Zambia. The company specializes in the production of wide range of modern plastic footwear. Since its establishment in 2014, CXL Investments Limited has built a strong presence in the Zambian manufacturing industry, delivering quality and innovative products to meet market demand.

The accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, managing accounting systems, and maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role supports strategic financial planning and provides leadership within the finance department.

Duties

  1. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  2. Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  3. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
  4. Ensure compliance with ZRA.
  5. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  6. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  7. Monitor and control company expenses and budgets.
  8. Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support decision-making.
  9. Ensure timely and accurate tax returns and financial submissions.
  10. Manage and review bank reconciliations and cash management.
  11. Safeguard company assets through strong financial controls.
  12. Assist management with financial forecasting and planning.

 Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  2. Professional certification such as ACCA and ZICA certification is a pass.
  3. Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting role. Manufacturing past experience is added advantage.
  4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and statutory requirements.
  5. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems).
  6. Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  7. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
